PixelStorm Wins the Australian Web Award for Best Drupal Website

PixelStorm Wins the Australian Web Award for Best Drupal Website

We are beyond excited to announce that PixelStorm has won the award for best Drupal website in the 2026 Australian Web Awards! This award recognises and celebrates our work on the Community Work Australia website.

The Drupal category recognises excellence in websites built on the Drupal platform, celebrating technical execution, performance, accessibility, and overall user experience. The award was presented at the 2026 Australian Web Awards, one of the country’s most respected digital and web competitions. Judged by industry leaders, the awards recognise excellence across web design, development, content, and digital innovation. This national recognition celebrates the strategy, design, and collaboration that brought the Community Work Australia project to life.

Building a Digital Platform for Australia’s Community Work Sector

Community Work Australia is the national peak body representing community work professionals, educators, students, and organisations. The website offers resources for multiple audiences and serves as a hub for accreditation, membership, skills assessments, and sector-wide engagement.

For Community Work Australia, our Drupal web design agency did a complete redesign and rebuild of the organisation’s website, with a focus on:

  • Creating a more intuitive user experience for multiple audience groups
  • Organising resources and information so that they can be easily found
  • Improving accessibility
  • Delivering a scalable platform for future growth
  • Strengthening security and content management capabilities

Built on Drupal, the platform provides the flexibility and security required by a national organisation managing complex user needs. The result is a website that not only meets Community Work Australia’s requirements today but is set up to grow and evolve with the organisation’s future goals.

The Journey from Finalist to Winner

Earlier this year, our Community Work Australia project was nominated in three highly competitive categories:

  • Community & Culture
  • For Purpose
  • Drupal

Being recognised as a finalist across multiple categories was already a significant achievement. Taking home the Drupal award is an outstanding result and a testament to the quality of work delivered by our web design agency in partnership with the Community Work Australia team.

A Recognition of Collaboration

Awards are never won by agencies alone.

This project was successful because of the strong partnership between the teams at Community Work Australia and PixelStorm. From the initial kickoff and strategy through to design, development, testing, and launch, the project was built on collaboration, shared objectives, and a commitment to creating meaningful outcomes for users.

Together, we created a platform that better serves professionals, students, and educators in the community work sector and supports the organisation’s mission to strengthen professional practice in Australia.

This award reflects what we strive for in every project: combining strategy, creativity, and technical expertise to build websites that deliver real value for organisations and their audiences. We’re incredibly grateful to Community Work Australia for trusting us with such an important project and to the Australian Web Awards judges for recognising the work.

Congratulations to everyone involved!
